Ronald Reagan Saves the World

Details

Ronald Reagan Saves the World presents the unvarnished, unapologetic, unauthorized recollections of America’s 40th president. During an evening in the Oval Office, Mr. Reagan reflects on his life — from growing up during the Great Depression, to an iconic career in show business and politics — while dealing with an unexpected family crisis.

Mr. Reagan was the last bi-partisan American president. He began as a registered Democrat under Franklin Roosevelt, became a Republican in 1962, and was elected president (twice) with support from voters in both parties.

Regardless of one’s preconceived notions about Reagan the man or Reagan the historical figure, this sometimes serious, sometimes humorous play is juxtaposed against the many challenges of his own time — and ours. It provides something touching and surprising for everyone.

Veteran actor/director Paul Messinger stars in this one-man show. He has a long list of theatrical and broadcast credits. Paul has worked in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and many places in between. Ronald Reagan Saves the World is his first appearance in Fresno.

Playwright Terry Phillips is a Fresno native. He was a CBS News foreign correspondent based in Moscow during the 1990s. Terry served as host for the Central Valley’s popular “Quality of Life” radio talk show.

This show is a presentation of Clear Brush Productions.
